YouTube declassifies Nolte as another Hollywood Award show

The televised broadcast of another Hollywood show is not planned. This time it’s the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards. If you want to watch the ISA’s this year, you’ll have to watch them on YouTube.

Previously, the ISA’s had been broadcast on IFC, the Independent Film Channel. Imagine how horrible it must have been for an IFC-like third-tier cable channel to be able to get rid of its viewers. According to Showbiz 411, the ISA’s drew only 60,000 viewers.

An example of my test pattern could easily increase that by as much as two-thirds.

Is that sixty-thousand viewers? Is that possible? Entertainment industry jobs employ a lot more people than just 60,000. They would be expected to at least tune in.

Nope.

Now, mark your calendar and watch for the March 4th!), the ISA’s will stream on IMBD and on IFC’s YouTube channel.

What a sad situation!

What’s more, this is the second Hollywood award show demoted to streaming.

Breitbart News reported in the last month that Screen Actors Guild Awards had been announced “is such a ratings failure it’s moving to YouTube.”Fast 25 years ago, the SAG Awards were broadcast by TBS/TNT, two of America’s national cable networks. This year… YouTube.

Last year, the ISA’s enjoyed being broadcast on a national cable channel, IFC. This year … YouTube.

Even with Hasan Minhaj hosting … YouTube.

Oh, wait, who’s Hasan Minhaj?

Nothing against this Hasan Minhaj guy (if that’s how he identifies), but hosts are a big part of the Hollywood award show problem. Unlike Johnny Carson, Bob Hope, and Billy Crystal, who drew tens of millions of Oscar viewers, there’s no one in show business anymore with universal appeal. Oh, and there’s one more problem…

There are no more stars.

These award shows were once a joy because of the glamour and attraction of the rarest species, the movie stars. That species is now almost extinct thanks to woke. Social media is full of actors and actresses, and this has cost them their most valuable quality: Their mystique. This is why we don’t enjoy these divisive farts.

The award shows have become a bizarre spectacle in which the Uber-Privileged One Percent boast about how great they are and then scold the rest. The desire to perform a show, humility, self-deprecation and gratitude toward the audience has all disappeared. There is absolutely no historical precedent. Hollywood is exploding due to its own hubris and narcissism. Everyone knows this and seems unwilling to stop.

Of course, another problem is that the product — the movies — suck.

They will overlook your most horrible behavior and forgive you if it is productive. These people only produce crap.

We don’t hate you Hollywood.

We’re just hating you back.

There’s a difference, and don’t forget…

It was your idea.
