Netflix Cancels Animated Preschooler Present ‘Ridley Jones’ That Options Gender ‘Non-Binary’ Bison

Netflix has canceled the animated preschooler sequence Ridley Jones, which encompasses a younger feminine bison who identifies as gender “non-binary” in its fifth and last season.

The sequence, which debuted in 2021, follows the adventures of a younger human woman who discovers that the displays at her native pure historical past museum come to life at night time.

Creator Chris Nee not too long ago confirmed the present’s cancellation whereas additionally blasting Netflix for failing to advertise the sequence.

“Oh and yes, this is the end of the series,” she tweeted final week. “They cancelled us after what they just put out. They threw all the specials, the xmas special (now?), the feature length special, the CYNDI LAUPER episode and just quietly slipped it onto the service. So this is it.”

Nee described the sequence as “the first preschool show that has a non-binary character coming out.”

The “non-binary” character is a younger feminine bison who has renounced her organic gender, modified her pronouns to “they/them,” and now needs to be generally known as “Fred.”

This isn’t the primary time Netflix has added a “non-binary” character to a youngsters’s present.

In 2019, the Netflix cartoon She-Ra and the Princesses of Energy launched the character Double Hassle who was born male however claims to be “gender-nonconforming.”

The next 12 months, Netflix canceled She-Ra and the Princesses of Energy.
