Everyone will say it is not Groundhog’s Day, but one particular groundhog in Montreal would likely disagree with you.
During a practice at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Friday, the groundhog decided to run across the track at the exact moment several racers were speeding around.

It seems that jaywalking and running rodents are common on Notre Dame Island where practice runs took place. Surprisingly there has been very few collisions between rodents or racers.
Maybe it’s the best thing for all: Rodents have fun and get exercise. Drivers can practice recognition and reaction skills. Boom.
Canadian Grand Prix will begin on Sunday at 2. PM ET, either with rodent interference or not.
