Super Bowl fans in Phoenix were shocked Tuesday when an anti-abortion activist scaled a 40-story building sans safety harnesses.
Maison Des Champs — who calls himself the “Pro-Life Spider-Man” — started his scary climb of the Chase Tower at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, TMZ reported.
Just before noon, he reached the summit.

Des Champs clearly chose the time as fans have flocked to Phoenix for Sunday’s Super Bowl and the media is covering the town looking for a story.
To begin the climb, the climber used a narrow crevice that was only 3 feet in width. At one point, he stopped at three feet and took a short video to explain his feat.
“We are climbing today to raise money for a woman named Hope, who is 22 weeks pregnant,” Des Champs said. “We just want to help her — she has some disabilities — we just want to help her choose life. So, please, if you guys want to donate, go to LetThemLive.org.”
He was arrested by the police after he had reached the summit.
Officials from the city denounced this stunt and claimed that it was illegal “extremely dangerous.”
“This is not the place or the time to do this,”According to KPNX, Captain Todd Keller of Phoenix Fire Department said this. “This is extremely dangerous.”
“Don’t do it. This is a stupid stupid move,”Keller claimed that he would have survived the attempted suicide.
Des Champs is a climber who has done many to promote his activism. He climbed Salesforce Tower, a 61-story building in San Francisco. In 2021, he scaled the 600-foot Aria Hotel Las Vegas.
