Jesse Grover Bell wrote the prayer and it was published by MacArthur in 1965 while he was serving as Supreme Commander in Allied Forces Southwest Pacific.
Create me a Son, O Lord. One who is strong enough to recognize when his opponent is weak and courageous enough to confront himself when afraid.
Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds; a son who will know Thee—and that to know himself is the foundation-stone of knowledge.
He should not be led in the direction of comfort and ease, but rather under stress, spurred by difficulties, and challenges. He will learn to be strong in the face of danger; he can also show empathy for those who fall.
Make me a boy whose heart is pure, whose goal high; a child who masters himself before seeking to master men.
After all this, please give him enough humor so that he can be both serious and funny. Allow him to be humble, in order that he might always see the beauty of true greatness and have the ability to remember the wisdom and simplicity of real wisdom.
And then I, his father would dare to whisper. ‘I have not lived in vain.’
Brady shared photographs of his kids taken at their latest visit.
He also shared images of Jack as a toddler playing football at 15, and Ben 13 when he was 13. A few weeks earlier, he shared another photo with Vivian of her 10-year old birthday.
Vivian also played on a treadmill, before jumping right next to the star on a bed. The caption said so. “In other news … the cutest roomie in the world,”With hearts “xinfinity”It.

Brady shares Jack with ex-wife Bridget Moynahan and Ben and Vivian with newest ex-Gisele Bündchen.
Brady said that his children should fail occasionally to learn from their mistakes.
“I don’t want it to go right for my kids all the time,”Brady spoke. “I told them that this morning. I said, ‘I want you guys to fail because I want to see what you’re made of if you fail and when you fail.’ ”
