A teammate of Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who upended school swimming final season, says that Thomas is “mentally in poor health.”
In keeping with an interview the College of Pennsylvania swimmer anonymously gave to the Washington Examiner, Thomas spent the 2021/22 swimming season refusing to return to phrases with the injury he was doing to his “actual” feminine opponents and teammates.
The Examiner interview got here on the tail of the looks that Thomas made on Good Morning America final month, during which the controversial swimmer stated he didn’t want “anyone’s permission” to take part as a lady in school swimming.

Whereas the media celebrated Thomas for the GMA interview, the Examiner found that others didn’t take into account the interview flattering.
“You may inform he’s mentally in poor health,” the natural-born feminine UPenn swimmer informed the Examiner. “I noticed the [GMA interview] and was so disgusted.”
The previous Thomas teammate added that Thomas isn’t dwelling in actuality and has flatly refused to simply accept that he has upset a lot of his teammates.
“Lia recognized as a lady, however she isn’t a feminine,” the girl added. “That may be a reality. It doesn’t matter how you’re feeling.”
The swimmer blasted Thomas for placing his happiness forward of everybody else’s.
“When requested concerning the query of equity, Lia stated, ‘Effectively, I’m completely satisfied.’ Lia fully ignored the query, dodged the query,” the Penn swimmer stated of Thomas’ GMA interview. “If you wish to speak about happiness, what about everybody else’s happiness? What about mine? What about my teammates’?”

“And to say, ‘Oh, nicely, I’m completely satisfied,’ it’s simply so narcissistic. And to not even acknowledge how different ladies would possibly really feel, it’s egocentric and disgusting,” she exclaimed.
“It proves that Lia solely cared about prioritizing Lia’s happiness above all people else’s. It’s absurd,” the UPenn swimmer stated. “You don’t have an argument as to why this needs to be OK.”
Thomas is reportedly setting his sights on attempting out for the U.S. Olympic Swim Crew, however after graduating from the College of Pennsylvania, his school swimming profession is fortunately over.
