Texas Department of Public Safety troopers seized an armed female accused of smuggling migrants. The woman was arrested after her vehicle crashed and she fled on foot. The Dallas area woman and her companion were arrested after a pursuit took place in Zavala County Texas on January 25.
DPS troopers attempted to pull over a truck carrying migrants from Zavala County. DPS provided dashcam video that shows how the driver stopped briefly, which allowed the migrants to escape into the brush.

According to the trooper, the driver led other officers and the trooper on high-speed chase that reached speeds up to 110 mph. This video captures the driver passing cars on an unpaved highway shoulder.
The driver finally lost control and drove off of the road. This led to a rollover crash into a rancher’s fence.
DPS officials stated that she reached for the weapon from her waistband while trying to escape on foot. The trooper was able to place the driver under arrest after she lost her feet and fell to the floor.
During the foot pursuit, the driver reached toward her waistband. The trooper & other officers apprehended the driver & recovered a 9mm handgun from her waistband. This Dallas-area woman is now facing state charges of human smuggling. Another passenger from Dallas is facing charges for evading detection and human smuggling.
Police took the Millennium G2 9mm pistol as well as the vehicle. Officials didn’t say if any migrants were arrested later.
Breitbart Texas extensively reported on the rise in arrests of human smugglers armed by federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
Breitbart reported earlier in the month that an armed human-smuggler had shot four El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents in their chest. The agent’s vest saved his life and allowed him to return fire, striking the smuggler.
