If you haven’t heard, there is a rather big case being deliberated on in the U.S. Supreme Court. In fact, it could even lead to an overturn in the infamous Roe v Wade case that made abortion legal in the U.S. back in 1973.
And as you and I can both imagine, those for abortion and on the liberal left aren’t very happy about that possibility, especially since it was “leaked” that a majority of the conservative justices in the High Court were of the mind that Roe should, in fact, be overturned and the matter of abortion being legal or limited should be given to individual state governments.
We can likely also imagine a few protests being conducted in honor of their wishes for abortion to remain as it is in the U.S.
But it appears these liberals have taken things to a new low, a new level of disgrace, and are actually breaking U.S. law in trying to intimidate and even threaten Supreme Court justices into making a decision that the progressive left will agree with.
Shortly after the opinions of several conservative justices were leaked several weeks ago, protests began to form in front of the private residences and on the lawns of those justices. People showed up to yell and scream, to hold up signs, to make their ire and voice heard. Some even showed up making threats.
In fact, due to these protests, armed guards and heightened security have been added both to justices’ homes and the Supreme Court building itself, where more protests have occurred. Justice Samuel Alito and his family have since been moved from their home to a more secure location in an attempt to protect them further.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, there was an assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his family just this past week. According to reports, a man was arrested Wednesday on charges of attempted murder after being caught on the Kavanaugh property with an armed gun, knife, duct tape, and zip ties.
Now, as you know, protesting is a First Amendment right and, as such, is protected by the law. However, there are certain cases where this is not so protected, and one is when it is used as intimidation towards any court member, be it the High Court or otherwise.
In fact, according to the Constitution, 18 U.S. Code 1507, parading, picketing, or being “in or near a building housing a court” or “building of residence” of a judge or justice with the intention of “influencing” said judge (juror, court officer, or witness) is a crime that is punishable with jail time and fines.
Of course, the only person to have been arrested thus far is the man I mentioned above, who actually brought weapons with him and appeared to be trying to accomplish something more sinister than “influencing” one of the justices.
Why is that? Well, because no one on the political left, which holds nearly all the power at the moment, has yet to condemn or even remotely speak out against these literally unlawful behaviors.
Take Democratic Attorney General Merrick Garland, for example. As the highest agent of the law in the U.S., it is his responsibility to uphold the law and condemn those who are breaking it. And yet, not once has he made a statement to dissuade individuals from protesting at justices’ homes. Neither has enforced those laws that say this act is, in fact, illegal.
Hell, he hasn’t even made a statement condemning the actions of the man arrested for attempted murder.
Neither has Democratic President Joe Biden – and don’t think that’s due to a lack of opportunity.
On Wednesday, the very day the assassination attempt was made, Biden was scheduled to appear on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” And appear he most certainly did. But not one mention was made of the attempt on Kavanaugh’s life. Not one.
Fox News contributor Joe Concha noted that this essentially took what should have been front-page news and put it on page 20. Concha also stated that if the attempt had been made on justice from the political left and not a conservative one, the attention it received would have likely been far different.
Concha said, “Come on. You’re telling us if this was a murder attempt of Justice Sotomayor, or Justice Kagan, or Ketanji Brown Jackson this wouldn’t be the top story? Of course, it would.”
But it wasn’t.
And so, in effect, Biden, Garland, and others have become accomplices of crime. Come November, those crimes will be paid for.
