It was on November 4th that NBC’s “Today Show”The breaking news story about the bizarre attack on Paul Pelosi (husband of Speaker of House Nancy Pelosi) was published by the National Correspondent Miguel Almaguer. Miguel Almaguer, National Correspondent to the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, quoted an unidentified source as Miguel Almaguer’s blockbuster report. “close to the criminal investigation”Paul Pelosi’s alleged home invasion and assault
Sources said that the attacker did not ask for protection immediately after he opened his front door to police on the night of an attack.
“After a ‘knock and announce,’ the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or try to leave his home. Instead, he began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police. It’s unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources,”Almaguer reports.
But later that same afternoon, the story and the video were taken off of NBC News’s website and their social media platforms. These were then replaced with this notice.
“Editor’s note: This piece has been removed from publication because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards.”
However, the original story of Pelosi’s escape is crucial to understanding the nature and extent of this crime. Pelosi walked back nearly into the hands the the culprits. “assailant”Why not just leave behind the protection of police officers?
NBC News suspended Almaguer from the network while this story is being investigated. Although the spokesperson claimed that personnel matters are not covered by the agency, it’s important to remember that this story is also about journalistic integrity.
NBC owes its American audience answers to some very important questions.
First, NBC must tell us about any errors in the Almaguer report. This question is still unanswered. Doesn’t NBC owe their readers this information instead of just saying it “didn’t meet their standards?”
NBC must also address the question “Who was the anonymous source who gave them their information?” “false” information.
If NBC now tells the truth, it is because the source provided them with the incorrect information. This has led to the suspension of the reporter. This source doesn’t deserve the protection they give him if NBC is now telling the truth.
Hasn’t NBC learned from the years of allowing anonymously sourced major stories about Trump and other GOP leaders to stand and then fizzle out as fabrications? They must set new standards in journalism.
If a source is not willing to go on the record with their story, they shouldn’t be used. If they do get used and the story is wrong they must be exposed. If they don’t face any repercussions for speaking an anonymous lie to media outlets, then lies will be continued.
This story was probably false, but it is possible that it did actually exist. It was pulled due to potential damage to the Left. This story called into question whether the party line was truthful.
“The Daily Beast”The first to ask whether Almaguer’s suspension was a cover-up by NBC was the agency that was. Other sources from the Right now believe that there was a cover-up by NBC and are spreading conspiracy theories about Paul Pelosi’s cracked skull.
If the story is true, NBC’s actions should be used by the Right. That’s why NBC should reveal what they got wrong, with this information from 30 Rock, we are left to ourselves to come up with a conclusion that makes sense out of all this.
NBC, the ball’s in your court.
