Ghislaine Maxwell Touts Clinton Connection In Bid For Lesser Sentence

Ghislaine Maxill, who was convicted of sex offences, drags former President Bill Clinton along with her relationships to him to try to get her sentence reduced.

The Daily Mail reported that her sentence will come on the 28th of June for being convicted as she was found guilty of complicity to Jeffrey Epstein.

According to her, she felt that her involvement in getting started the Clinton Global Initiative was a sign of her ability to help others. “desire to do good in the world.”

She spoke about the in her 77-page file. “history of philanthropy, charitable work, and helping others namely her work with the Clinton Global Initiative.”

“Ms. Maxwell has always worked hard. Her many educational, occupational, and avocational accomplishments include becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), a helicopter pilot, a submersible pilot, a banker; partnering with the Cleveland Clinic to establish a telemedicine platform to enable people in remote areas to obtain quality medical treatment; helping develop the Clinton Global Initiative; supporting a variety non-profit and charitable organizations,”Her attorney stated.

Another part of the document states that Maxwell was not an ‘heiress, villain, or vapid socialite’. She is driven, energetic, committed, hardworking, and has a passion for doing good. She has supported friends and family through tough times and personal crisis and currently is assisting women in her unit at the MDC,” her attorney said. “She has endeavored to contribute to society….(by) helping launch the Clinton Global Initiative.”

It puts Maxwell, Epstein and Clinton in a new light.

Epstein claimed to have helped Clinton launch the CGI and the former President flew on his private jet – known as the ‘Lolita Express’ – dozens of times.

One photo taken as the jet was about to depart shows Maxwell standing with Clinton on the plane’s steps, the two smiling warmly.

Maxwell and Clinton have been friends since the middle of the 1990s when they were all photographed at the White House.

Clinton denied wrongdoing regarding Epstein, and claimed he did not visit his private Caribbean island as reported by some.

The claim about Maxwell being targeted by a sniper was made during a section of the pre-sentencing filing which talked about Maxwell’s treatment in the MDC while awaiting trial.

“The treatment imposed on Ms. Maxwell was unnecessarily and intentionally degrading and threatening,”Her attorney stated.

“While in isolation, a high-ranking prison guard told Ms. Maxwell that there was concern that she would be shot by a sniper. Putting aside the reason and propriety of dispensing this alarming information, the diminution of security concerns resulting in her transfer to the general population appears correlated to Ms. Maxwell having been sufficiently safeguarded to fill Epstein’s empty seat,”The attorney stated.

In April, U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan upheld Maxwell’s conviction even after juror Scotty David was found to have misrepresented himself during pre-trial jury selection.

David’s failure to disclose to the court the fact that he was sexually abused as a child was “highly unfortunate,&#8221Nathan made the ruling, but it was evidently not “deliberate,&#8221The BBC reported.

“His failure to disclose his prior sexual abuse during the jury selection process was highly unfortunate, but not deliberate. The court further concludes that juror 50 harbored no bias toward the defendant and could serve as a fair and impartial juror,”According to the report, the judge stated.

David’s questionnaire answer became an issue after Maxwell’s attorneys noticed that his answer didn’t jibe with his public rhetoric.

David spoke with various British news agencies in January. “described a moment during the deliberations when he told fellow jurors in Maxwell’s trial that, like some of the victims of the late financier Epstein, he had been sexually abused as a child,”As noted by the AP.

“I know what happened when I was sexually abused. I remember the color of the carpet, the walls. Some of it can be replayed like a video. But I can’t remember all the details, there are some things that run together,”He gave a brief description of his testimony to the jury in an interview.

He also stated that he was also a member of the “convinced other jurors that a victim’s imperfect memory of sexual abuse doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”
