Disney+ Cartoon Requires Repairs and More ‘Slaves Built This Country’Song

Disney has awoken again, with the latest episode of their cartoon series “Proud Family” — which featured kids singing a song about reparations that America “owes”Black Americans, and more “slaves built this country.”

Disney+ has just aired the most recent episode titled “Louder and Prouder,” reviews the history of Juneteenth when the kids discover their town’s founder was a slave-owner. This is the opening line of the song. “This country was built on slavery — which means slaves built this country” — and that line was repeated over and over throughout.

“We the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering,”The song was continued. “And continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for.”

The cartoon’s last line featured four black students staring at each other, while the white student who was on the podium with them carried a sign reading “The Last Line.” “still has not atoned for.”

“Slaves built this country,”The shouting continued, and they claimed, “We made your families rich,”They listed plantation owners as well as northern bankers and New England ship-owners. The Founding Fathers were also included. Current senators are among the others who have profited from slaves’ backs.

Even the cartoon included debunked “Hands up, don’t shoot”This claim was made after Michael Brown’s shooting in Ferguson Missouri.
