Over remarks he made on Tuesday about the oil-and gas industry during the State of the Union speech, President Joe Biden received both laughter and boos.
Biden claimed that the industry made record profits during a global energy crisis because they “invested too little of that profit to increase domestic production and keep gas prices down.”
“Instead, they used those record profits to buy back their own stock, rewarding their CEOs and shareholders,”He claimed. “Corporations ought to do the right thing.”
Biden was actually the one that canceled drilling leases and clamped down domestic drilling. Instead, he lifted sanctions against energy production in order to free socialist dictatorships from countries such as Venezuela.
“We’re going to need oil and gas for a while,”Biden confessed at one time, leading to boos by Democrats in Congress.
Republicans later mocked Biden when he stated that he was a “senator”. “we’re going to need oil for at least another decade”Because the U.S. will need oil much longer than for another decade.
Biden said that we still need to use oil for another ten years, and everybody laughed at him😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/fvPae30q3M
