U.S. intelligence personnel claim that several Chinese spy balloons flew over U.S. soil while President Donald Trump was in office. “went undetected”At the time and with officials “discovered after”Trump stated that the balloons were Chinese surveillance.
After an F-22 Raptor flew on Saturday against a Chinese spy plane off South Carolina, the U.S. used a single A9X sidewinder rocket to eliminate the Chinese satellite. The missile was shot at an elevation of 58,000 feet. After the balloon flew thousands of miles above the United States over the past few days, President Joe Biden authorized it to be shot down.
Fox News reported on Sunday morning that a Chinese spy satellite crashed off Hawaii’s coast last year. There were also intrusions into U.S. Airspace by the Trump administration.
The claim that the Chinese spy balloons flew over U.S. soil under Trump generated strong pushback from the former president and from several of his top former officials, including John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence; John Bolton, national security adviser; Robert O’Brien, national security adviser; Ric Grenell, acting Director of National Intelligence; and Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense.
Fox News also reported that a top Biden official stated, “U.S. intelligence, not the Biden administration”This assessment “PRC government surveillance balloons transited the continental U.S. briefly at least three times during the prior administration and once that we know of at the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time.”
The official said that Trump had not known about these incursions, and they only became apparent after Trump left office.
“This information was discovered after the [Trump] administration left,”According to the official. “They went undetected. Two things can be true at once: this happened and it wasn’t detected.”
According to the official, discovery has been made “part of a larger pattern”Find out what the communist China does with its military, as it moves more aggressively in foreign policy.
“These balloons are all part of a PRC fleet of balloons developed to conduct surveillance operations, which have also violated the sovereignty of other countries,”The official addition.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-AR suggested it during an appearance. “Fox News Sunday”There was an possibility these balloons might have floated over the United States under Trump’s leadership, but they were not discovered until very recently.
“What’s even more worrisome is, one, did our senior military know about these balloons in the past and not inform their civilian superiors during the Trump administration?”Cotton required. “Or maybe worst of all, did we not know about these balloons in the past and we only learned about them in retrospect by studying historical data?”
