A Child Rapist who Abused His Children and Wife Was Found Dead in Cell

The body of an innocent man who was convicted for horrific crimes against his child and later found guilty of the rape of another child, was discovered in his British cell on Thursday as he waited to be sentenced.

Andrew Hadwin (39), died just two weeks after being convicted. “three counts of rape, seven counts of neglect, and one count of perverting the course of justice,” Chronicle Live reported. Before his April 28 sentencing, he was held at HM Prison Durham near England’s east coast.

The counts of rape stemmed from Hadwin’s past crimes against a different girl, who Kat Pudney was Detective Constable “now a young woman,” as Leading Britain’s Conversation (LBC) reported.

Hadwin, along with Cheryl Pickles (35) were both convicted on January. “Pickles was found guilty on five counts of child cruelty and one count of perverting the course of justice,”Outlet Noted. They were both charged with sexual activity, but they were not convicted.

When the couple was first reported to Durham Constabulary, they began an investigation. “when one of the children confided in a trusted adult”MEAWW 2018 Noted.

Gazette Live highlighted the many ways that the couple were accused of mistreating their children.

During the inquiry, which spanned four years and involved more than 150 witnesses, detectives found that Hadwin and Pickles repeatedly abused the children by making them eat soap, locking them in cupboards, forcing them into boiling hot showers and baths – sometimes submerging their heads under the water – and withdrawing their access to food. Children often needed to search for leftovers, and one time they were alone walking to four miles to get food at a grocery store.

The trial heard medical experts describe how children often suffered severe injuries. One child was left with permanent disabilities as a result.

Police were also told that the two wrote letters to children, in which they apologized and were sorry and accused professionals of sexual assault. However, a handwriting expert confirmed the writing was not that of a child, and that the letters had actually been written in a notebook found at the couple’s Bowburn home.

Pudney described this case as “complex and distressing”She was like no other she has ever had “encountered during [her] time as a police officer,”Notification of LBC

Her daughter added, “The children have sustained.” “psychological wounds which they may never truly recover from.” While authorities haven’t released details regarding the cause of Hadwin’s death, the outlet quotes a prison spokesman as promising that the An investigation would be conducted by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
