When Roger Waters, Pink Floyd’s former frontman and guitarist David Gilmour called Gilmour an antisemitic person to his face this week, it intensified the feud. “rotten core”Along with many other unpleasant descriptors.
Pink Floyd fans are well aware that there was a rift between Gilmour, Waters and it started in the 1980s. This led to Waters’ departure from the band he had helped to build. They also lost a lawsuit against him to stop them using their Pink Floyd name without Gilmour. While Gilmour and Waters may have performed together for some performances in the past, they never managed to put aside the rift between them. On Monday, the chasm between the two rock legends arguably widened beyond repair when Gilmour personally attacked Waters’ character.

The drama began when Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, who helped write several songs for Pink Floyd after Waters left the band, publicly accused the former frontman of being an antisemitic Putin apologist. Gilmour did not just like her tweet, but publicly supported it.
“Sadly @rogerwaters you are antisemitic to your rotten core,”Samson. “Also a Putin apologist and a lying, thieving, hypocritical, tax-avoiding, lip-synching, misogynistic, sick-with-envy, megalomaniac. Enough of your nonsense.”
Gilmour shared the post on Twitter and wrote, “Every word demonstrably true.”

Waters boasts hard-left anti Israel views over the years. In addition to accusing Israel of pushing Nazi politics, he also downplayed Palestinian crime and advised musicians to support him by boycotting Israel. Last year, he not only voiced pro-Russia sentiments following the invasion of Ukraine but also claimed that China had every right to encircle and threaten Taiwan’s sovereignty.
“Taiwan is part of China. That has been absolutely accepted by the whole of [sic] international community since 1948. If you don’t know that you aren’t reading enough…. You are believing your side’s propaganda. You can’t have a conversation about human rights and Taiwan without actually doing the reading,”He stated.
Waters, an atheist also denies that China has committed human rights violations. Waters called these claims “abjective”. “Bullocks!”
Roger Waters later replied to Gilmour’s and Sampson’s claims via their official Twitter account, calling them “wildly inaccurate.”
“Roger Waters is aware of the incendiary and wildly inaccurate comments made about him on Twitter by Polly Samson which he refutes entirely,”This is what the article said. “He is currently taking advice as to his position.”
