Ryan Reynolds will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Deadpool for the third installment of the franchise — and Hugh Jackman will also star in the film, reprising his career-defining role as Wolverine.
The “Free Guy”Alum broke the newsHe shared the video to his social networks on Tuesday in a humorous and sarcastic clip. He is seen sitting down on a couch and speaking to a camera inside a living area.
“Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long while now,” Reynolds said about Disney’s annual expo, where it announces upcoming projects.
“I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special.”
Reynolds’s brainstorming sessions on walks, outside lifting weights or on the toilet are followed by a montage.
“We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside.”
“And I have nothing,” Reynolds joked. “Yeah, just completely empty up here,”He motioned to his head, saying “He said that.”
“But we did have one idea,”Jackman entered the living room and he only said that he was going upstairs.
“Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?”Reynolds asked.
“Yeah, for sure,”Jackman replied nonchalantly while climbing up the stairs.
Reynolds then looked into the camera and raises his eyebrows as Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”It’s time to start playing.
