Netflix’s upcoming Netflix film has feminist activists outraged BlondeIt contains a scene in which aborted baby call Marilyn Monroe a killer.
Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn Monroe portrait Blonde — a biopic that deliberately veers far away from realism and takes great license with historical events — is under fire for depicting unborn children as more than discardable tissue, adding insult to injury in a post-Roe v. WadeAccording to one columnist, America.
“Blonde is a horrific, tone-deaf reminder of why a female perspective should be included, or at least asked for, when writing about abortion,” wrote Samantha Bergeson in an op-edFor IndieWire, before suggesting that there should be a “trigger warning” for “a trio of CGI fetuses asking why Monroe murdered them.”
Bergeson described one Blonde abortion scene as follows:
Monroe starts her first pregnancy that is terminated. [played by Ana de Armas]Asking for assistance from the studio secretary “handle” her pregnancy after realizing her mother’s mental health disorder is genetic. Monroe wants to become a parent. However, fearing her abusive mother, Monroe makes the difficult decision to end her pregnancy. She wears black Ray-Ban glasses and is driven away in a Hearst-like limousine. It’s in that very car in which Monroe has second thoughts, sees a literal stop sign, and decides she wants to keep the baby instead. Yet the driver doesn’t turn around or even flinch when she starts screaming. As her feet are forced into stirrups and her screams echo throughout the hospital, the camera tracks a DNC. [dilation and curettage]She gliding by tube through her vaginal walls
“This type of abortion sequence does not happen once, but twice,” Bergeson added.
Monroe was allegedly impregnated years later by John F. Kennedy, a philandering president. His goons kidnap and drug Monroe in the middle of the night; she is convinced the procedure is a horrible dream, but as she wakes up covered in blood smeared all over her abdomen, it’s clear the nightmare is only just beginning.
The IndieWire writer also added that Monroe was confronted in the film by a third unborn child while Monroe was out gardening, to inquire if she would have another. “do the same”Just moments ago, she gave the same advice to her friends as she gave to them. Others like it hot star has a miscarriage.
Although there have been many reports that Hollywood stars have procured abortions from their star, no medical records have ever confirmed this claim.
Bergeson concludes his remarks by declaring that “Blonde shows us that Monroe’s body is not her own,”Before bizarrely claiming it was Monroe’s, “all women’s bodies are now at the mercy of the United States,”Because the Supreme Court ruled in favor Roe v. Wade.
Reaction to Blonde is yet another example of left-wing activists having a public meltdown over the Supreme Court’s recent life-saving decision, in which the Court held in the Dobbscase that the Constitution did not provide a right for abortion, and transferred the battle over abortion laws from the state legislatures.
